Associate in Business Science

As an accounting program student, you will receive training in accounting theories and principles and the way they are applied in business. You can develop the necessary knowledge and skills to enter the fields of accounting or business.

Program graduates receive the training to analyze, record, and interpret accounting information as it is used by companies and organizations.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are awarded an associate of business science degree.

Program Outcomes

The accounting program is designed to prepare graduates to meet the following outcomes:
  • Demonstrate the ability to recognize and record accounting transactions and understand their need and importance in supporting the accounting function of business
  • Demonstrate an understanding of accounting theories and principles and apply them as they relate to the accounting process
  • Demonstrate the ability to use computer-based accounting software in analyzing and recording accounting transactions to support the accounting function
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the key business and accounting concepts and how they relate to operational tasks and responsibilities
  • Understand and apply tax laws and regulations to specific tax situations and problems in business
